Taste Mexico's extraordinary vibrant flavors

Voted "Best Mexican Restaurant" by readers of Dan's Paper

Mercado in Bridgehampton offers a true taste of Mexico in a warm rustic atmosphere.
Mercado (translated as Market) promises to delight your taste buds with Mexico's extraordinary vibrant flavors composed of market fresh dishes using the finest ingredients form local fish and farmer's Market as well as those imported from Mexican Markets.

With 75 tequilas and 20 beers on draft which complement our flavorful dishes perfectly, we offer the widest selection of Tequila and draft beer you will find anywhere in the Hamptons. We also offer a great selection of margaritas and cocktails.

We choose the name Mercado after an intense culinary trip to Mexico, taking cooking lessons from top chefs while working to understand its cuisine (both street food as well as top notch restaurants)and its people and delightful flavors We especially like visiting the local Mercados (markets) in every town big and small where we experienced many new ingredients and flavors . We wanted to bring that fresh from the market feel and honor the long and flavorful history of Mexican Cuisine to our restaurant and hence the name Mercado.

After my recent trip to cities like Mexico City, Puebla, Oaxaca and many small villages, I was inspired to revamp our menu to make it more authentic and with the help of Chef Julieta Ballesteros of Crema in NYC we created something special at Mercado.

Chef Julieta Ballesteros has been voted either the #1 or #2 Mexican chef in NYC by Zagats for 6 years running. She is the chef/owner of Crema and China Latina in NYC as well as consultant to several other restaurants throughout the city. She has appeared on Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen nightmares when he needed an expert in Mexican cuisine to help revamp a restaurant and has also been an Iron Chef contestant. Her unique style has helped in acknowledging Mexican cuisine as an upscale experience and she has helped bring that Mercado's dishes.
